Agriculture and Natural Resources
Karolyn Card has always been interested in Agriculture. She went to an Agricultural Science and Technology program in high school and majored in Animal Science. She went to UCONN knowing she would have a future career involving agriculture. By her junior year in college she decided that she wanted to be a teacher. She majored in Animal Science and Resource Economics with a minor in Equine Business Management.
During Karolyn’s semester as a student teacher she was highly involved in after school activities with the AG students. She helped students showcase at home projects they had done over the summer, participated in welcoming freshman to the agricultural program in the form of a picnic and accompanied the students to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
Her interests also include a love for tennis. She started playing in high school and now has volunteered for two years as assistant tennis coach at Killingly High School. She hopes to continue coaching while teaching, further increasing relationships with students.
